Work Environment
You will work in a modern hospital facility equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and equipment designed for outpatient therapy. Collaborating closely with licensed physical therapists, your role will center on deploying effective therapeutic exercises in a nurturing environment that encourages patient recovery. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you balance in both your professional and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of individualized therapy programs, focusing on improving patients' mobility while relieving pain and promoting overall wellness.
- Monitor patients' progress and communicate actionable insights to supervising physical therapists, ensuring that treatment plans remain effective and responsive to patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to track treatment outcomes and reports.
- Deliver functional therapeutic activities and adaptive exercises designed to help patients regain independence, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support patient education initiatives by explaining treatment protocols and encouraging self-management strategies that patients can adopt outside therapy sessions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Emerald Valley PT, you will work primarily with adult outpatient clients, particularly those undergoing rehabilitation for orthopedic issues. This diverse patient population may include post-surgical patients, individuals recovering from sports injuries, and adults with chronic pain conditions. Your role will be vital in helping these patients navigate their recovery journeys in a supportive and empathetic manner.
Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved education program for Physical Therapist Assistants or an equivalent program recognized by the Florida state.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical patient care, specifically in physical therapy settings.
- Current license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Florida.
- In-depth knowledge of therapeutic techniques, particularly in regard to orthopedic rehabilitation protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities, essential for coordinating care and fostering trust with patients.
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless documentation and communication.
- Familiarity with patient education methodologies to effectively engage clients in their therapy processes.
