Work Environment
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Emerald Valley PT, you will work onsite in a state-of-the-art hospital facility located in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing care plans designed to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and improve overall fitness for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries.
- Administer therapeutic treatments and modalities, including therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor and measure patient progress, documenting all findings and adjustments in the care plan effectively using our electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Communicate patient progress and treatment feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about rehabilitation exercises, home care routines, and health maintenance to promote recovery and prevent future injuries.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The ideal candidate will provide care primarily to orthopedic patients requiring rehabilitation after joint replacements, fractures, and other musculoskeletal conditions. You will encounter diverse cases that require tailored therapeutic methods, emphasizing both physical recovery and education on preventative care. Your role will be vital in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey, helping them achieve their personal health and wellness goals.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program or possession of equivalent educational credentials recognized by the Florida State Board of Physical Therapy.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing patient care in a physical therapy setting, with a particular emphasis on orthopedic patient care.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Florida State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic techniques, rehabilitation practices, and senior care protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure precise documentation and patient tracking.
- Experience working within a hospital or outpatient clinic setting with an emphasis on orthopedic therapy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while possessing a proactive approach to patient care.
