Position Overview
MobiCare Rehab Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This full-time position invites candidates to play a vital role in the recovery journey of each patient by providing supportive and effective therapeutic interventions. Work Environment
The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility within a hospital setting in Bridgeport. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing patient-specific treatment plans, ensuring to deliver care with technical proficiency.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately, reporting findings back to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust care as needed.
- Maintain treatment areas and therapeutic equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized environment conducive to effective rehabilitation.
- Set up and oversee therapeutic modalities and equipment during patient sessions to maximize safety and efficacy.
- Collaborate with a healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to orchestrate comprehensive and effective patient care.
- Provide education to patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-management strategies to encourage continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The PTA will engage with a varied clientele, primarily composed of adults recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, surgical procedures, and neurological conditions. Our goal is to offer personalized treatment routes that address unique challenges and enhance functional independence, with a focus on optimizing each patient's recovery trajectory.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program; relevant certifications are essential.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
- Demonstrated experience or education in outpatient rehabilitation settings is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically, fostering a collaborative environment with team members and patients.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are advantageous and may be required for certain tasks.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of experience in a physical therapy setting, specifically in outpatient care delivery.
- Prior experience with treatment techniques pertinent to orthopedic rehabilitation, including manual therapy modalities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems to ensure accurate tracking of patient progress and development of treatment strategies.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
