Position Overview
MobiCare Rehab Center is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated team. This full-time position is instrumental in implementing treatment plans tailored to enhance the mobility and overall quality of life for our patients. Work Environment
This position is based in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital, where you will collaborate closely with fellow healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and nursing staff. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed therapies.
- Deliver hands-on care including exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to facilitate patient recovery.
- Continuously monitor and document patient progress, promptly reporting observations and changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments within our electronic health records system, enhancing communication and patient tracking.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment, fostering a safe and efficient workspace for staff and patients alike.
- Support the healthcare team in coordinating comprehensive patient care, including scheduling follow-up appointments and collaborating on interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding exercise programs, safety measures, and self-care strategies to promote long-term wellness.
Patient Population / Client Focus
At MobiCare, our patients vary widely in age and rehabilitation needs, including those recovering from orthopedic injuries, post-operative procedures, neurological conditions, and chronic pain management. You will engage with a diverse clientele, tailoring your approach to meet individual challenges while fostering a positive and restorative experience.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required; graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is essential.
- A valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Connecticut.
- At least two years of experience as a PTA in an outpatient rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities to foster teamwork and patient interactions.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is desired to ensure high standards of patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a collaborative healthcare environment, contributing to multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation procedures.
- Prior involvement in patient education initiatives that focus on lifestyle modification and self-management.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and generous paid time off.
