Work Environment
This position is based at our onsite hospital facility in Beatty, allowing for direct and dynamic interactions with patients and their families. The work atmosphere is collaborative and supportive, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement in therapeutic methods. You will work Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, within a professional yet friendly atmosphere where your voice and insights will be valued.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Physical Therapist in creating and implementing tailored treatment plans for each pediatric patient.
- Providing hands-on care by assisting children with exercises, mobility training, and strengthening activities to improve their physical capabilities.
- Monitoring patient progress and accurately recording observations to inform treatment strategies and adjustments.
- Engaging with families to educate them on the therapeutic process, providing home exercise programs, and sharing insights for continued development.
- Maintaining meticulous and up-to-date patient documentation as per regulatory standards and organizational guidelines.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals on the therapy team to ensure holistic care for each child.
- Encouraging and uplifting patients during their therapy sessions, fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on providing therapy to children with diverse needs, including those recovering from injuries, managing congenital disabilities, or requiring developmental support. You will work with a range of patients, from toddlers to adolescents, allowing you to apply a variety of therapeutic techniques aimed at promoting mobility, coordination, and overall well-being.
Qualifications
The right candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A current Nevada state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
- A genuine passion for working with children and a desire to foster their growth and well-being.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with children and their parents.
- The capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
Preferred Experience
While experience in pediatric physical therapy is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates with at least two years of experience in physical therapy settings will be viewed favorably. Compensation and Benefits
We provide a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
