Work Environment
Situated in the heart of Champaign, our facility features state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative atmosphere. As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will be working onsite in a dynamic hospital setting, engaging with an interdisciplinary team of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. The default work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Gotham Enterprises Ltd, you will be tasked with crucial responsibilities that include:
- Assisting the Physical Therapist in developing, implementing, and adapting individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities, utilizing techniques such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Educating patients about proper body mechanics and home exercise programs to facilitate their recovery journey, ensuring they understand the importance of adherence for optimal outcomes.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, including tracking gains in range of motion, strength improvements, and functional capabilities, thereby informing ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Preparing treatment areas and maintaining an organized supply of equipment necessary for effective therapy sessions.
- Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care, enhancing patient outcomes through a team-oriented approach.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to patients during challenging rehabilitation processes, fostering a positive and motivating environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The patients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds, representing various demographics and conditions. You will work with individuals dealing with recovery from orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, age-related challenges, and specific pediatric issues, as well as athletes and post-surgical patients. This diverse client focus allows you to tailor your therapeutic approach to meet the changing needs of each patient, ensuring personalized and effective care.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Completion of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions pertinent to physical therapy.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with patients, their families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a genuine commitment to assisting individuals in achieving their rehabilitation goals.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this Physical Therapist Assistant position ranges from USD 50,000 to 65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
