Work Environment
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our hospital-based rehabilitation center, you will work in an onsite environment that fosters collaboration among healthcare professionals. Our facility is designed with cutting-edge equipment and treatment areas, ensuring that you have the tools and support necessary to deliver exceptional patient care. Working weekdays from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, your schedule will occasionally require flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional ability.
- Support patients during therapeutic exercises by demonstrating proper techniques and modifications to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Educate patients on body mechanics and the importance of adherence to home exercise programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
- Administer modalities as guided by Physical Therapists, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, to facilitate the healing process.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion and strength, to inform ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Prepare therapy areas and maintain organization of supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for each patient session.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide emotional support to patients, helping to motivate and encourage them through their rehabilitation challenges.
- Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights throughout their treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will involve working with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and age-related challenges. The ability to adapt treatment approaches to various age groups—from children to seniors—will be essential in meeting the wide-ranging needs of our clientele.
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field completed from an accredited program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy.
- Proficiency in implementing treatment modalities in conjunction with a supervising Physical Therapist.
- Excellent communication skills essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- A compassionate demeanor that prioritizes patient-centered care and fosters a positive rehabilitation experience.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in tracking and documenting patient progress.

Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, experience working in a rehabilitation setting is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as EMRs, will be considered a plus, as will any specialized certifications in therapeutic techniques.
Compensation and Benefits
