Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and proficient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our accomplished rehabilitation team at our state-of-the-art facility located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Work Environment
Our rehabilitation center is situated in the vibrant community of Virginia Beach, offering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work directly with patients and closely collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless and effective care. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility needed to meet the demands of our patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and restorative activities with a primary focus on pain relief and physical well-being.
- Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and home exercise programs to foster self-management and promote recovery.
- Administration of therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, always under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Monitor and document patient progress, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength improvements, and functional capabilities to help refine treatment approaches.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and ready for effective delivery of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes by coordinating treatment efforts and sharing insights on patient progress.
- Provide emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journeys, creating a positive and encouraging environment.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality, protecting the rights and privacy of all individuals receiving care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will directly impact a diverse range of patient populations, from athletes requiring sports rehabilitation to elderly patients focusing on regaining independence post-injury. You will contribute significantly to the lives of those recovering from surgeries, managing chronic pain, or re-learning fundamental physical skills.
Qualifications
- Completion of an Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid Virginia state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- In-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Ability to proficiently implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under a licensed Physical Therapist's guidance.
- Strong communication skills complemented by effective interpersonal abilities, facilitating rapport-building with patients and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- A compassionate and patient-oriented approach, demonstrating genuine concern for helping patients achieve their rehabilitation milestones.
- Capacity to work with various patient populations, customizing treatment plans to cater to individual needs.
- Attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting is highly desired.
- Experience implementing care plans for a diverse range of patient demographics.
- Familiarity with rehabilitation technologies and modalities.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
