Work Environment
Situated in a well-equipped hospital facility in the heart of Empire, Nevada, our rehabilitation clinic fosters a collaborative atmosphere where healthcare professionals work closely as a team. This onsite role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and optimize clinic operations. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Gotham Enterprises, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with licensed Physical Therapists to implement personalized treatment plans that focus on improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities aimed at pain relief, strength enhancement, and restoration of normal function.
- Educating patients on effective body mechanics and exercise techniques, while also providing them with home exercise programs to promote ongoing recovery.
- Administering treatment modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, thermotherapy, and cryotherapy in accordance with your supervising Physical Therapist's directives.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, including tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength development, and functional improvements.
- Preparing and maintaining treatment areas, ensuring all equipment is sterile, organized, and ready for use during therapy sessions.
- Coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure cohesive patient care and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Providing emotional support to patients, fostering a positive rehabilitation environment that encourages resilience and motivation.
- Upholding professional standards and ethics by ensuring patient confidentiality and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will engage with a varied patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients, each with unique rehabilitative needs. Collaboration with families and caregivers is also a significant component of the role, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support during their recovery process.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Physical Therapist Assistant position, candidates must possess the following:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Nevada.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions in physical therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to perform therapeutic exercises and modalities in alignment with prescribed treatment plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the establishment of rapport with patients and effective collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Patient-centered approach, characterized by compassion and a commitment to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, essential for tracking patient progress and managing therapy sessions efficiently.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting, particularly in a hospital environment, is highly desirable. Familiarity with advanced therapeutic techniques and tools, as well as continued education in specialized areas, will be considered a strong asset.
Compensation and Benefits
The PTA position offers a competitive annual salary package ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a compelling salary, we provide a robust benefits package that includes:
