Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of personalized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, focusing on improving residents' mobility, strength, and balance.
- Monitor and document resident progress during therapy sessions, providing regular updates and feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist to adapt treatment strategies as needed.
- Provide nurturing and empathetic care during therapy sessions, fostering a rapport with residents to encourage participation in their rehabilitation activities.
- Educate residents and their families on safe mobility techniques, proper exercise forms, and strategies to reduce the risk of falls and injuries.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines by accurately documenting treatment sessions in accordance with Medicare standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The primary focus of this role is to support senior residents, many of whom may have age-related physical limitations or disabilities. As a PTA, you will work closely with older adults who require specialized care to regain independence in daily activities, enhance their quality of life, and prevent further decline in functional abilities. Your role is critical in fostering a supportive environment that encourages movement, enhances self-confidence, and ultimately leads to improved overall health and well-being.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
- An active Oregon PTA license or eligibility to obtain one by the date of hire.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to starting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population of residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a geriatric setting, preferably in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
- Familiarity with documentation requirements for Medicare and state regulatory bodies.
- Experience implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships within a team environment.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and performance. Included in your employment package are comprehensive benefits such as:
