Next Horizon Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our vibrant rehabilitation team in Stockbridge, Georgia. Work Environment
The successful Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in a collaborative clinical environment, interacting daily with a diverse interdisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Our clinic hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential for occasional flexible scheduling to accommodate specific patient needs and ensure optimal care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing customized treatment plans, focusing on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and daily functionality.
- Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and rehabilitation activities, ensuring proper techniques are followed to maximize recovery outcomes.
- Educate patients regarding body mechanics and home exercise programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.
- Administer therapeutic modalities under professional guidance, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and temperature therapies to alleviate pain and promote healing.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting improvements in range of motion, strength performances, and functional benchmarks.
- Prepare treatment areas efficiently, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are organized and available for seamless therapy sessions.
- Engage with diverse patient populations and tailor treatment approaches to individual needs, fostering a supportive and motivating atmosphere.
- Maintain adherence to ethical standards and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a PTA at Next Horizon, you will work with a broad spectrum of patients, ranging from pediatric clients recovering from sports injuries to elderly individuals regaining mobility post-surgery. Your role will be crucial in providing empathetic support and motivation throughout their rehabilitation journeys and significantly influencing their recovery outcomes.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions specific to physical therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of nurturing relationships with patients and collaborating cohesively within a healthcare team.
- A detail-oriented mindset with sharp organizational and time management abilities essential for maintaining patient records and treatment schedules.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for efficient patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
