This full-time position plays a critical role in assisting licensed Physical Therapists in delivering exceptional patient care. Work Environment
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within a hospital setting. Our team consists of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other healthcare professionals who work closely together to coordinate patient care. Our typical working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though we occasionally require flexibility to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the execution of individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist, with a goal of improving patient mobility and function.
- Guiding patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, and functional activities to optimize their rehabilitation outcomes.
- Educating patients on appropriate body mechanics and exercise techniques, as well as designing home exercise programs that support ongoing recovery.
- Administering therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cold/heat therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Monitoring patient progress through accurate documentation and collaboration with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Preparing treatment areas and ensuring all equipment and supplies are well-organized for therapy sessions.
- Providing emotional support to patients, fostering a nurturing environment that encourages their journey toward recovery.
- Adhering to all ethical and professional standards, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be working with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, athletes needing rehabilitation, and elderly patients with mobility challenges. The role requires a compassionate demeanor and the ability to tailor care strategies to meet the individual needs of pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring each person receives the support necessary to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Possess a valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Show a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a genuine desire to assist patients in reaching their rehabilitation objectives.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills with an eye for detail that ensures accurate documentation of patient care.
Preferred Experience
Although not mandatory, candidates with prior experience working in rehabilitation settings, particularly within a hospital or clinical environment, will be given preference. Familiarity with specific therapeutic modalities and experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams further enhances candidacy.
Compensation and Benefits
Gotham Enterprises Ltd offers a competitive salary in the range of USD 50,000 – 65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
