Bay Motion PT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Miami, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating patients' physical capabilities through comprehensive assessments to identify strengths and limitations.
- Carry out pre-planned treatment programs developed by the supervising physical therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
- Provide guidance and education to patients regarding exercise programs and techniques to optimize recovery and promote self-management.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously and communicate observations and updates to the supervising physical therapist to refine treatment plans effectively.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare providers to ensure cohesive treatment approaches, sharing insights and experiences that contribute to comprehensive patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient population primarily includes individuals recovering from sports injuries, orthopedic surgeries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. This role requires you to engage with a diverse clientele, providing tailored support that enables each patient to regain function, alleviate pain, and work towards athletic goals.
Qualifications
- An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required, along with a valid license to practice in Florida.
- A strong clinical background supported by comprehensive knowledge of physical therapy practices, modalities, and rehabilitation techniques.
- The ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff is essential to foster positive working relationships and enhance patient engagement.
- Demonstrated capacity for compassion and patience while working with clients who may be facing physical challenges.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of hands-on experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly in managing athletic injuries and orthopedic conditions.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient assessments and treatment progress.
- Experience administering both therapeutic exercises and assistive techniques effectively under the guidance of licensed physical therapists.
Compensation and Benefits
- Attractive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications, along with performance-based incentives.
